WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment facilities and Systems.Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; records statistical data concerning plant operations; maintains, operates, repairs, and replaces equipment as necessary; charts laboratory test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analyses and test results; and evaluates data and writes reports as required. Operates, maintains, and repairs malfunctions at the treatment plant; repairs gauges, pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment. Collects samples and identifies concentration of chemicals, physical or biological characteristics of water required in accordance with local, county, state, and Federal requirements; gathers and tests water samples to determine plant efficiency. Adjust chemical feed rates as needed. Performs quality control tests on laboratory equipment. Assures that the treatment plant operates within required standards. Calibrates, modifies, or repairs instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeters, and other water quality monitoring equipment. Paints, cleans, sweeps, mows grass, and mops floors. Operates and maintains pump stations; cleans wet wells and operates pumps and valves to control and adjusts flow and treatment process. Backwashes plant filters. Education and Experience: (A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Major course work in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field. (B) Previous experience in water treatment operations. (C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience. (A) Working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in water treatment plant maintenance and operations activities; and working knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices. (B) Skill in the operation of the listed tools and equipment. (C) Ability to perform process control calculations; ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the general public; and ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. (A) Valid Oklahoma State Driver's License, or the ability to obtain, prior to employment. (B) "C"
level Certification from the DEQ, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment, certification as a Water Treatment Plant Operator.Communications Officer
The City of Coweta is accepting applications for the position of part time communications officer (police dispatch).
Applications must possess good communications skills and be able to work within emergency situations. Part time positions may include days, evenings, or midnight shifts as well as weekends and holidays. Applications may be picked up at city hall, 108 N. Broadway. A post offer drug screen is required.
